Common Materials

Great candidates

  • Wood, including pine, oak, birch, maple, and bamboo
  • Acrylic, with cast acrylic preferred for crisp results
  • Leather, especially vegetable-tanned leather
  • Painted or powder-coated items
  • Anodized aluminum
  • Slate and certain stone products
  • Compatible metals using a laser marking compound when needed

Common limitations

  • PVC, vinyl, and unknown plastics are not accepted because they may release hazardous fumes.
  • Clear polycarbonate often melts or chars and is generally unsuitable.
  • Oversized or sharply curved objects may exceed equipment clearance or rotary limits.
  • Mirror-polished, plated, or delicate finishes require individual review.
  • Deep engraving into bare metal requires equipment different from our current laser system.

Unsure about the material? Include photos, dimensions, and a product link when available.

Artwork & Logos

Vector files such as SVG, AI, and vector PDF are preferred. High-resolution PNG and JPG files may also work. Artwork cleanup or conversion may require additional design time.
